The Steamin' Demon

Let us all say a prayer for our troops now engaged in in conflict in Iraq and wish them and their families all the best and bring them home safely.
The newsletter will be mailed out in early May with a little history of the USS Dyess's namesake. On the web site you can read of the ships history for all it's years serving our country. If you are ever in Washington, DC visit the Navy Yard and there you can browse through the complete history which was complied from 1945-1981. They also have there a wonderful US Navy museum for you to view and see many years of history. There is also a US Marine Corps museum there plus the USS Barry and many interesting sites for all to see. In the newsletter there will be information and a sign up sheet for the reunion in Asheville, NC in September. Have had calls from shipmates who found us through the reunion notices that were sent out in a wide range of the media. May is turning into a great recruiting month for members. Hope most can make the reunion even if only for less than 4 days. All who join in 2004 will be charter members. Received news that Louis Cavallaro, CSC, 65-67 has recently passed away. Heard from the Doerr's today and all is well. Dan is at the senior center 3 days a week playing cards. This is how he will make his money for the reunion. Membership is still growing and to hear one shipmate say that we are lucky if we get 10 members. The Kalispell reunion is in June and we wish them the best. Make plans to attend the Asheville reunion in September. You will have a great time sharing time with your old and new shipmates.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Shipmates, If in the past you signed the guest book and did not get a response we apologize to you . Please sign in once again and we will answer all sign in's as now they are checked weekly.
