2001 (Buffalo) U.S.S. DYESS Reunion Information (17th)

Ahoy all Shipmates Wives and Friends:

We would like to Thank Everyone for making the 17th annual Reunion of the USS Dyess, Outstanding.

A lot of new and old friends attended, which added to the fun. Sixty shipmates attended with wives and friend. Total 110.

Niagara Falls was our first trip. Lunch at the Sheridan Brock overlooking the Falls was impressive. The ride on the Maid of the Mist was wet and awesome being so close to the Falls.

The Naval Park and lunch aboard the Niagara Clipper was enjoyed by all. Thank You, to all the Dyess dancers, you were good sports.

Saturday was our Buffalo Day and picnic Beef on Weck and Buffalo wings were served at lunch. Now you know why Beef on Weck is a Buffalo favorite. The old fashioned Picnic was nostalgic, we were reminded how the reunions started many years ago.

A Moment of Silence for all departed Shipmates was a time of remembrance for all.

Thank you Dan Davis for making the auction fun as always.

While the shipmates were at the business meeting the women had a 50/50 drawing. The money will be going to Buffalo Childrens Hospital

Looking back the best part of the reunion were the memories, sea stories and renewed friendships shared in the Hospitality Room by all.

A BIG THANKS to Bob & Kathy Doll and Lucy& Terry Dickinson for all your help.

Our 2002 Reunion will be Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Dan and Phyllis Davis will be our Host and Hostess, SEE YOU THERE!!!!
